Haven't played in other maps since the crashes started.System Requirements PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Had the crashes during gameplay in England and Ireland maps. Usually crashes within the first 15 minutes of gameplay. I haven't gotten more than 30 minutes of uninterrupted play since updating to 1.6. ![]() No, they can happen anytime, usually during gameplay. Are there any specific triggers for these crashes / freezes? For instance, do they happen when launching the game, or during a loading screen?.Have you made any recent changes to your system, such as updating your Operating System or installing new software?. #The sims 4 all dlc codex Patch#When did these crashes / freezes first occur? Please be as exact as possible.Īs soon as the game was updated to patch 1.6.Yes, rare crashes with previous latest version of the game before 1.6. Have you been able to play the game without experiencing crashes / freezes before?. #The sims 4 all dlc codex driver#Game crashes the same with driver 512.95 and after upgrading to latest driver 516.59 I7-3770K / Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, 6GB RAM. Before updating to 1.6 I had been running the previous latest patch without any issues. Before this patch there was maybe 1 crash every 2 days of playing. I have experienced at least 10 crashes since updating yesterday, at random times during gameplay, and once during a cutscene. Since updating to patch 1.6 the game constantly crashes to desktop at random times after 5 to 30 minutes of playtime. The reason your graphics freeze but you still have sound is when Valhalla freezes/crashes it dumps all the VRAM but your system RAM is still loaded and that's where the sound data is found so sound will still work and the game is basically still running it's just there in nothing in the VRAM or frame buffer to send to your display You definitively don't want VRAM transfers for a browser going on at the same time as a game especially one that's borderline stable like Valhalla. For instance right now with Chrome open It's using 0.3 GB of VRAM. They not only take up memory space they all take up space on the Page File as well as use CPU cycles send data from RAM to the Page File as well as more traffic on the drive at a time the game is potentially asking for somethingĪlso if you have Hardware Acceleration turned on in a browser then the browser will use some VRAM as well as make transfers RAM to VRAM. Browsers, Discord, Twitch unless you are streaming, etc. You should shut down all unnecessary background applications. Internet browsers are notorious memory hogs. My hardware-accelerated graphics setting is also turned on (I previously turned it off).įor now my main complaint is the graphics - its very grainy even with many of my settings at med/high, resolution at default settings and depth of field turned off.īut that's an issue for a separate If you are running a browser in the background you definitely are going to have a memory problem. It's more tolerable because its much less frequent now.īasically editing the registry which a user mentioned on the first page of this thread: Occasional 1-2secs freezes are there but 95% of the time I do not suffer longer or game-breaking freezes >10secs. Previously I had to close my browser but now even with more intensive graphics settings it is smooth about 90% of the time. Although not a permanent fix but this improved it lots. I suspect it is likely a memory issue (often at 90+% when ACV is on). It's worse when my internet browser is open with many tabs (Firefox). However FPS is decent. This has happened since I started playing a few days ago. I've been having screen freezes while the sound is still working fine.
